Risk of Acid Rain’ to be screened in EU, US
TEHRAN, Jan. 05 (MNA) – Behtash Sanaeiha’s ‘Risk of Acid Rain’ will be reportedly embarked on a large-scale international publicity and will be screened in Prague, Washington, and Boston.
The film will be screened in Washington, US capital this week. The second screening will be in Boston, Massachusetts, in competition sector of the 22nd Boston Festival of Films from Iran, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and finally it will be a contender in competition section of 5th Prague Iranian Film Festival, January 13-18.
Rakhshan Banietemad, Safi Yazdanian, Majid Barzgar, Reza Mirkarimi and Houman Seyedi are among the crew of the film. Behtash Sanaeiha is now in Prague as the guest director. ‘Risk of Acid Rain’ had been screened beginning November 9 2015 by ‘Art and Experience’ cinema group. The film was also screened in the 33rd Fajr International Film Festival’s ‘New Outlook’ and ‘Art and Experience’ sections and won Best Script Award in ‘New Outlook’ section and was nominated for Crystal Simorgh for Best Film in ‘Art and Experience’ section.
‘Risk of Acid Rain’ was also nominated for Best Film, Best Script, and Best Actor awards and actually won the Best Brilliant Talent Award (Best Debutante Film) in festival of Iranian Association of Film Critics. The film has been present in the 17th Mumbai Film Festival, 11th Zurich Film Festival, and Colombo Film Festival, winning the Jury Special Prize of the festival. The film also won Netpac Award in Australia. Mohammad Atebaei is manager of international screening of the film.
Risk of Acid Rain receives special prize in Sri Lanka
TEHRAN, Nov. 12 (MNA) – Iranian film Risk of Acid Rain, directed by Behtash Sanaeiha, won the jury’s special prize at the 2nd International Film Festival of Colombo (Nov. 6-11).
The Iranian flick recently won the Netpac Award in Australia and was the winner of Best Script in the First Films Category at Fajr International Film Festival in 2015.
It is a minimal poetic story that depicts the life of Manouchehr, a 60-year-old retiree from a tobacco company, who still insists on going to work while struggling with the loneliness of retirement. When his mother passes away, Manouchehr; who is unmarried with no other relatives sets off on a journey to try to find his one and only old friend in Tehran.
International Film Festival Colombo 2015 (IFFC 2015) is a major international film festival organized by the Film Directors’ Guild of Sri Lanka and partnered by Ceylon Theatres and National Film Corporation. It showcases films from a variety of countries and varied cinema disciplines.
Praguians give standing ovation to ‘Risk of Acid Rain’
Behtash Sanaiha’s ‘Risk of Acid Rain’ has won the audience award during its participation in Prague Film Festival.
Sanaiha, the director of the film, welcomed the warm reception of the film by Praguians. Among other Iranian films in the festival were ‘Tales,’ ‘Taxi,’ ‘What Time Is It in Your World?’ ‘Melbourne,’ ‘Thirteen,’ ‘Today,’ and ‘Jumping from Low Height.’

'Risk of Acid Rain' to vie at Sweden filmfest.
TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – 'Risk of Acid Rain' directed by Behtash Saneeha, will participate in Goteborg film festival.
It narrates the story of a 60-year-old retired man named Manouchehr. He is eager to continue his work as he feels loneliness of retirement. Unfortunately his mom passes away, so he heads to Tehran in search of his old friend.
“Risk of Acid Rain” is Behtash Saniha’s first film which participate in Goteborg film fest at Sweden.
Goteborg film fest is one of the oldest film festivals on Jan. 29th to Feb......

Behtash Sanaeeeha during his acceptance speech, after receiving his award for the best script at Tehran Fajr Film Festival closing ceremony, expressed his gratitude to his production team and the ones who had assisted him in making his independent film with the least financial resources available. This gratitude was also addressed to such masters as Iraj Raminfar, kambozia Partovi, Shams Langeroodi, and Jafar Panahi. However, his words were cut out of this part of televised ceremony. Whereas, his speech was broadcast on radio until he mentioned Jafar Panahi’s name and then immediately the transmission stopped for a few seconds.

Iranian actress joins Gothenburg int'l fest jury
TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian actress Maryam Moghaddam has joined the jury members of Gothenburg International Film Festival, Sweden.
The Iranian actress has already starred in 'Risk of Acid Rain' by Behtash Sanaieha. The 38th edition of the event, the largest and most important film festival of Scandinavia, opens late January in Gothenburg every year. The winner of the festival receives $150.000 cash prize.
The festival is scheduled for January 23 to February 3. It is an annual film festival in Gothenburg, Sweden and the largest film event in Scandinavia. When it was launched in 1979 it showed 17 films on 3 screens and had 3,000 visitors. Today, the film festival takes place over 10 days each year at the end of January and beginning of February. In later years around 450 films from 60 countries are screened for 115,000 visitors. The film festival is also an important market place for the contractors in the movie industry.
HENRIK NAGY(Swedish composer) cooperates with "RISK OF ACID RAIN"
The music of this film was composed by the swedish composer Henrik Nagi who was known for his recent album using music compilation with Khayam the poet.
This composer also coaperated with some famous Iranian musicians and had several concerts in Iran which became very popular.
Now he is composing music for the noth europe and scatland's TV
One characteristic feature of this composer is to have a deep knowledge of Eastern music, particularly music and traditional instruments. While making the music of "Risk of Acid Rain" Henrik Nagi worked with Reza Abai the musician of the instrument Ghaychak who lives in Canada.
